Overall Rating
I loved my stay at the Hoxton Poblenou, with nearly every aspect being a perfect 5 stars. The staff were super friendly, the accommodations were so chic down to each detail, and everything was really clean. I did however take off 0.5 stars due to location because the hotel is a bit further out from the main spots in Barcelona you’ll likely be in during your trip.
The Lobby
The moment I stepped into the Hoxton Hotel in Barcelona, I was captivated by the chic, inviting lobby. The attention to detail in the decor, with cozy seating areas, stylish furniture, and a warm color palette makes you feel right at home. The lobby effortlessly blends modern design with a touch of local flair, creating a welcoming ambiance that sets the tone for a memorable stay.
The Hotel Room
The hotel rooms at the Hoxton are a blend of comfort and style. The rooms are modern, but you’ll notice touches of local flair with the Spanish style floors and local products. Each item in the room is thoughtfully picked out like no other hotel I’ve stayed at, all the way down to the speaker and mugs at the coffee/tea bar. Another great piece – the room’s are very spacious with a reading nook, desk, and bathroom tub.
The bathroom tub was about €30 extra per night which I found to be worth it if you aren’t on a tight budget. After all the walking you do in Barcelona, this was a relaxing way to end the night. The bathroom is the highlight of the room with Spanish style tile on the floor moving up the wall to a create dimension.
The Rooftop Bar
The rooftop bar at the Hoxton is nothing short of its online hype. The big selling point is its panoramic views of Barcelona’s skyline, including a direct view of the Sagrada Familia. This bar is open to the public, but if you are a guest at the hotel you can get a table without any reservation needed. The bar is just as chic as the rest of the hotel with a vibrant atmosphere. They offer wine and cocktails which are a bit pricier than the rest of Barcelona given the view.
The Pool
The pool at the Hoxton Hotel is a must-do if you are staying at the hotel (it is only open to guests). They have two seating options – loungers and a cabana which are first come first serve. You can pay €40 for each lounger or €80 for the cabana. Note that these come with free drinks and food though which make the rental fee more worth it! We opted for the cabana which came with a pitcher of sangria, a couple appetizers, and our own plates of tacos from the restaurant menu.
Overall, my stay at the Hoxton Hotel in Barcelona exceeded all expectations. From the thoughtfully designed lobby to the stylish rooms, the stunning rooftop bar, and the relaxing pool, every aspect of the hotel exudes charm and attention to detail. I highly recommend the Hoxton for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in Barcelona.
